Only In Oregon

Only In Oregon

Did you know a san-tee on it's back is allowed for a vent, even though the UPC says it's not allowed.

Sure is a nice to have a twist in that part of the code. It comes in handy in many places.

Wow... might be handy, but I'm not sure I could bring myself to do it. A vent with a "bottom" seems like a recipie for a vent clog in later years. I do understand your point about 'handy' though. Sometimes you really need to puzzle on how to arrange all your vents so that they are washed.

Here in Tri-Cities WA you can use tees on their back, as long as you dont wet vent over it. I used to live in Seattle, they wont even consider any tee on its back!

That true here also, I think your codes and the codes here are petty close in comparision.

Re: Only In Oregon

Seattle/Tacoma is strict...which is good...keeps hacks from working, kinda,
When doing a dialysis center in Tacoma, they wouldn't even allow any horizontil vents under slab........i had to run a 15' 3" trap arm for a floor drain, they just wanted to reduce grade to 1/8/ft and made them happy.
a little anal i thought when they called me on not grading my vent that was laying on the truss's running nearly the length of the building (it was level) explained that upc says that it's just fine that way....he said next time make sure it has grade.
