Need Help On Fire Pit

Can I run a 24" fire ring on a 3/4" pipe for 60 feet?

I live in california and the city code is really ambiguous.

Please help.

Thanks, Ron

You would really have to measure the total length from the meter and see a schematic of the piping that is currently there and then look at a National Fuel Gas Code book to answer the question.

You want to draw about 30K btu's from the system. You need to size the system. Find out what you would be doing to the rest of the appliances.

If you are GOING to add it regardless......for that distance run, see if you can pick it up at a 1" fitting. But then again, it's not that big of a draw.

Code says you must deliver the correct amount of WC. In order to do that, ya need to size the house properly

The gas line was plumbed in by the home builder. I have a 3/4" stub-out that I need to connect to. Can I run a 24" fire ring on a line that is 60 feet long?

Thanks, Ron

Bud, you can run it as long as you like. You can run it to your neighbors house and run his fire pit too.....I aswell as DVR was simply telling you h0ow to do it properly. I personally think you should hire a plumber, it's obvious this is not your day job.........

I could not possibly agree more.
Drainage, water, venting...sure maybe.
Gas..NO!
Imagine a slow leak underground that seeps through the neighborhood.
