Moen Hydrolock System - Experiences?

Gentlemen,

I see Moen has moved many of their faucets to this new "Hydrolock Quick Connect" system. Looks like just an extra link in the chain to me. But the HO wants a particular faucet model that has this system. Anyone been using them and can report if their repliable or not?

Thanks.

Why would a homeowner want this? I'm curious how that would even come up in a conversation.

I can't remember a time when Moen didn't have that hydro lock system, seems like it's been in place for many, many years. I've installed hundreds of them on their bathroom faucets and never had a single problem yet.

Have you never installed a Moen faucet? I don't think they moved their faucets to that design, I think it has been that way for a while.

How would this even come up with a h/o? Did they specifically request a Moen with a HydroLock Quick Connect???

EDIT - disregard what I said, Finley beat me to the punch.

I think what he's getting at is that the HO chose a faucet that HAPPENS to have this hydrolock on it, not that they only wanted the hydrolock and he's not familiar with it..........

...but i've been wrong before

I had a customer that developed a crack in his sink after four years with this setup and was concerned about breaking the connection when I replaced the sink. Havent had any problems with the re-connection(hard well water too).
