Mansfield toilets

I have these in my house. Is there any way to adjust the lift/ float tower (whatever you call that thing?) to stay up longer (allowing more water to flush)? It has a little loop on the side of it & I didn't know if that might be a place to attach a float to it? One of my toilets allow more water through than the other one does, but they are identical?

I am amazed at how many different toilet flush valve systems there are over here. In the UK we have the most common which is the syphon like below



and we have the 2 stage water saving type like below
