Loud A.O. Smith Powershot Waterheater

HI- I installed a Powershot by A.O. Smith and vented it out the side of the house with PVC pipe. The vent fan kicks on everytime you run the water in the house, and the fan is so loud you can hear it all over the house. Anyone got any suggestions on how to quiet it? I put a baffle already in the vent pipe, but that didn't do much. Does this sound familiar to anyone????

If its in a confined space I think you have to have a certain amount of combustion air for it to burn , its a sealed combustion unit so it might not be getting enough air . it shouldnt be loud through the whole house. if thats not it check back with youre supplier or call a.o.smith.

Check to see if the vent itself is in direct contact with any framing. If it is, it will transmit much more sound that if it were not touching.

A quicker way might be to contact via email on their website, www.hotwater.com
