Re: Location- Material Prices

We rarely buy water heaters.

3/4 L we are getting for 2.55 a foot with a thousand foot ordered, 2.05 a foot for 1/2. I usually buy two thousand feet at a time of 1/2, 3/4, and 1" mixed.

We rarely buy K copper, I can't remember the last time we did.

I can buy ball valves in bulk, imported 4.75 for 3/4 and 3.50 for 1/2, we use these as throw away valves only. We buy domestic made valves for the valves we intend to use, usually Milwaukee, 13.00 for 3/4 and 10.50 for 1/2.

When we do riser shut downs in high rises, we install valves that will not be accessible when the unit is framed and drywalled, so when the framing is up we install isolation valves, turn on the throw away valves, and remove the handles, thus "throwing the valve away".

Gotcha. So they are not actually thrown away as in a temporarily installed valve and the quality of the valve is less of an issue since ultimately it will remain perpetually open.

Of course I've never seen you Killer but I'm thinking you must be skinny as a post since you spend your life dragging tools, materials, etc. up and down and around high rises. My limited experience in commercial work tells me it's about a thousand steps every time you have to go get something.

I wear twenty nine inch waist pants.

There is a reason all my estimates are based on $1900.00 per fixture, and yes, an ice maker on the fridge is a fixture.
