Leaky Shower Head

I went did a service call today for a leaky shower head, when you run the taps and turn the shower on everything is fine, but when you turn it off (by pushing the divertor in) the water comes back out the spout where it's suppose to but there is this a flow coming from the shower head.

Now there was a spout on it with an hose attachment but the wand was removed some time ago but the spout was never changed, I changed it out but all i could get from my supplier was one with a divertor on it, so i got it anyway (what the heck) well I tried it again and it did the same thing, I even used the diverter on the spout and still there was water flow from the shower head, so i know it's not the 1st diverter.

What could be causing this to happen? and how do I fix it??

The fittings and pipe for the taps and shower are 1/2 black Iron

Re: Leaky Shower Head

Too much water pressure, see what the pressure is on the house. What brand is the valve?

Re: Leaky Shower Head

I know of a few things that can cause that.

1. Flipped shower valve.

2. Faulty diverter.

3. Restricted spout stub out (old galvanized is a dead giveaway).
