Kohler Toilets Lopsided?

Put in four Kohler toilets yesterday and all four were lopsided. My tile floor is perfectly level, but the toilets are leaning to the right, all four of them. I measured both sides of the bowls and the right side is about 1/4" shorter than the left side. Anyone else ever have this same problem? One is a Memoirs, and the other three are the Devonshire model.

Yes I have . Next time go with the Gerber . " Viper" for standard toilet. "Avalanche " for the comfort height . Out ranks all the Totos and Kohlers

Does not come in the "Lopsided" model ,,, lol

I have heard of (and suspected) that the toilets HD gets from kohler are somehow "flawed" I have installed 3 kohler HD toilets with internal cracks. They leaked right out of the box. (No, they weren't overtightened). I am assuming your toilets were from HD because those styles are very popular there. If I'm wrong, I'll shut my yapper.

I agree with shims. Not the obvious or perfect way, but hide shims by making the tile corners uneven/unlevel (with more thinset underneath) just at where it needs to be... so to touch the toilet base/feet.

There is no way to control the shrinkage of vitreous china when it is kilned, which is why they invented plastic shims.

Call the folks you purchased those potties from or contact Kohler directly. I can see 1/16th inch, but 1/4 inch? That is quite a bit.

Shrinkage on vitreous china is a fairly consistent 13% and Kohler is known for having some of the best china around.

Those are the old work toilets, for sagging floors. You need the new work toilets, they are nice and level.

Re: Kohler Toilets Lopsided?

I also heard that kohler has there products for hd & Lowes brought in from mexico, Never had any problems with any fixtures from big plumbing supply house's.
I'll never buy anything from either one of those stores,
One time I bought a cast iron sink from hd . was doing my sister a faver she wanted her kitchen sink changed. on the way home from a roofing job (rip and install) I stoped and picked one up at hd , because the supplier was closed. got to her house took the old sink out disconnected the faucet and spray, opened the box and fu$k. someone took there old sink, put it in the box and used contact glue to seal the box. when I brought the sink back they thought I was pulling one over on them, luckley they had another on the shelvf Did not get finished untill after midnight. Never again.
