Based on another thread here recently I checked on some of these "franchise" plumbing companies. The local Mr. Rooter franchise is owned by a 16 year old that competed in last years special olympics locally, and the license is held by his eighty four year old grandfather.

A sixteen year old can not enter into a contract never mind own or hold title to a business. There must be signatory persons and/or guarantors and/or in-trusts.
That does not make it any less his at sixteen. Just a bit of red tape. Sounds to me like a bit of Tax Sheltering/Evasion. (which I am ALL for!!!!!)
