Re: How Long Would This Take You?

I don't think that'd pass an inspection here in Massachusetts. I can appreciate what he was trying to accomplish, though...keeping it all up in the bay so you can have a nice finished space without pipes hanging down. But I can't say I would've done it the same way. My main complaint: Couldn't he have cut the copper back a little so he wouldn't have burned the PVC when he soldered that coupling? But, then again, I'm anal about things like that.

Should have used ABS, you would have never seen the burn mark.

Holes in joist can be drilled providing your 4 times the amont of the hole being drilled, away from the hole thats drilled. Dam that a hard you to explain in writing.

Now say that as fast as you can.

and the copper lines are too close to the edge of the joist in the middle of the span.
I'm assuming those short ells are vents?

Here that SanTee is allowed, but that might only be allowed in Oregon.

Did you permit this job?

Re: How Long Would This Take You?

have you ever heard of a wet vent. you dont need an individual vent for that shower or tub after you y of for the sink. the sink drain becomes the wet vent. the word wet means its the drain for the sink and the vent for the tub and shower. ask youre inspector about a wet vent.

Using this as the formula then the holes, based on the scale of the drawing are at most 3 times aparts

Holes are drilled out at 2 9/16, safe distance center to center 12", you don't think those holes are a min of 1' apart?

The only problem with that is all the copper in the walls too.

Hot water recirculation line. It's run to the hot water outlet farthest away from the water heater so when you turn on the hot water at that fixture, you don't have to wait a long time to get hot water.
