How Far Can Utilities Run From Street To House
I am in the middle of purchasing 45 acres right now. Planned on having a long driveway, initially wanted around 900 ft from rd. There are utilities at rd. on the other side. Can anyone tell me what type of price would be associated with running these. Is the cost per foot or does it exponentially increase with distance. As far as sewer how do you deal with the large drop in order to maintain the pitch.. The house will have a basement with bathroom in basement as well. Any ideas on cost would be helpful.
Would it be better to just go septic and well or possibly septic but use town water. Please help so I am not blind with the project manager being my only help. Anyone no about electric and gas please include that help. Thanks. I I had to I could move it as close as 450 but dont really want to, the property is a mile deep.

Re: How Far Can Utilities Run From Street To House
Here in Kansas Illinois it would cost $9.50 a foot for beried line and the power company does it ALL. I was going to dig my own trench and they said it wouldnt matter. That was for 3-phase and they said single phase is $2.00 less a foot.
Rural water is available as well and it was up to us to lay the line and they would make the connection to the main for no charge. They installed a meter at the connection. Propane where we are so no gas issues. Septic is what we are on as there is no sewer available.........even in town. That old town baord still thinks its OK for everyones septic overflow line to drain into the water districts tile, that in turn drains into the lake where drinking water is pulled from. Sure wish EPA would do there job on that issue.
