Hanger Assemblies
This is my first post. I am a plumbing & fire sprinkler contractor.
Is there a code to protect insulated copper water pipe in reference to hanging? I have 3 lines to run. 3/4" HW & HWR, and 1" CW. Spec's indicate 1" thick armafllex insulation on the hot and 1/2" on the cold. I plan on installing the closed cell insulation on the pipe before hanging. My question is, are saddles required per code to prevent the insulation from breaking down, or are standard em-lock swivel hangers sufficient? Thanks, Christian Sinto, PE |
