Gas Dryer Next To 3 Gas Water Heaters

So i just installed a gas dryer next to 3 gas fired water heaters. I vented the dryer using clamps and plenty of ducting tape (not duct tape). My concern is that this is a rental and if one of the tenants pulls out the dryer or if for some unforseen reason ( i did place large signs stating not to move ANY of the machines under any circumstances, but you just never know) the vent gets knocked or pulled off the dryer, could the pilots from the gas fired water heaters and the potentially unvented dryer cause the worst case scenario that im thinking of.. or is there not enough gas to cause a problem. Im assuming that this set up is common but could i blow up my rental or am i being too paranoid?? Thanks in advance!!!

The water heaters should have pilot safety's on them shutting off any gas if the pilot goes out. The issue as far as i know with water heaters and dryers is negative pressure or down drafting of carbon monoxide. Calculating "Make up air" should take care of your concerns. I'd check with your local building dept however just to be sure.

I personally draw air from above the hundred year snow line. People don't think about clearing vents and intakes during a snow storm.

my concern is that if the vent gets moved or disconected from the dryer, could the gas from the back of the dryer (that is no longer being vented outside) ignite a fire/explosion from the 3 pilot lights on the water heaters

That's not very likely. The big problem would be carbon monoxide spilling into the basement...it's not a combustion risk, but if anyone's living down there, they may not wake up if the vent becomes disconnected. Double check the installation with the local building department, and make sure you install carbon monoxide detectors.

Option 1: Hire a licensed plumber/gasfitter to do it.
Option 2: Continue doing your own gas work; retain good attorney.

We see it in the news all the time...for that very reason I pull permits even on small gas jobs to cover my license & insurance, also I have my electricians cell# on speed dial for the co detectors.

I didn't do the gas work.. I hired a plumber. I was only concerned about the venting and what would happen if a tenant decided to move a machine and the vent became unattached.

The tenant just became responsible for any/all damages and for paying the plumber/tin knocker (of the LL's choice) to come out and repair the connections.
