Garden Tub Faucet Repl, Cutoff's @ The Same Time?

I actually have time to take care of a problem @ my house for a change.... Updating the faucet in master bath garden tub. Current faucet is piped up solid 1/2" copper, no cutoff valves. My question is will putting cutoffs in limit the water flow too much or can I do it so I have a way to service it in the future.
Tks,
Steve

If you use full port ball valves you will not have a pressure loss.
