Fitting Totes
What is everyone using to lug your copper around in?
This is more for service work and and the occasional repipe. 1/2" 3/4" 1" all fittings (ar almost all fittings) Some 1 1/4" - 1 1/2" too expensive to stock everything for as little as I use that. Looking for something of a plastic nature with lots of sturdy dividers. My 2 supply house have crap and it's too expensive. Thanks

Re: Fitting Totes
I use the buckets that have 4 trays. 2 trays are deep and 2 trays are shallow. They have dividers to seperate the fittings. It works great for me. I can't remember the name for them but the buckets are yellow.
I also can't remember how much I paid for them. I think they were a little high but they have really served the purpose. In Christ, Song Dog |

Re: Fitting Totes
Thanks for that, however these are for copper fittings not nipples. I have 6 or so metal nipple trays for my brass and galvi....rather heavy and I know the plastic won't last with as hard as I am on them. But for the fittings, If I could find something that will house 4 sections on each side so I can have just one tote for the majority of work. Can't really tell if the soft tote is customizable for what I'm wanting...

Re: Fitting Totes
I'll put in a vote for the Stuff Sorter, too.
I used to use three stacking gray trays with a sheet of fiberglas over the top handle and a cinch strap to hold the trays together when I plumbed houses. But now that I've switched to service, I don't need to carry as many fittings and I need it to be waterproof. I also carry my PEX in Stuff Sorters - one for each size. |
