Face Plate For Shower Valve

I just in stalled the pegasus shower valve and tile was cut a bit too much.

2 questions:

1 - Are all pegasus face plate interchangeable or are they specific to the model.

2 - Is there a large face plate available that I can use? The one I have is 6 inchs in diameter.

Thanks fellows.

#1..don't know

#2 There are oversized "remodeling" trims manufactured, but you will have to check with your plumbing supplier for specific brand applications.

pegasus is only manufactured for home depot. It actually looks to be of the same quality as some of the kohler and grohe units.

Pegasus is a brand made by a 3rd party manufacturer exclusively for Home Depot. If you have heard of Glacier Bay, you are familiar with the scenario. While Glacier Bay is a cheaply priced and in my opinion cheap quality facuet, Pegasus is their higher priced, higher quality, nicer designs line of faucets.

We've installed quite a few, with some of their styles they are hard to beat for the price, they are sometimes 1/3 the price of the next manufacturer for a similar style, but they are regarded as pretty high quality.

Talk to somebody in Home Depots kitchen design dept about them, they will be able to look them up for you and see what is available to help you out.

The operative word here is "looks". No matter what the item, there have to be manufacturing cost reductions to allow it to be sold cheaper, especially under the pressure of a big market retailer whose main concern is price, not quality. In this case, I suspect weaker alloy for the body casting, thinner castings, thinner finish plating, etc. . You can only get what you pay for.
