Draino Caused Leak?

howdy all,
a recent sink blokeage led to the use of draino which after a few hours unblocked the sink but now the back join of the p trap has developed a leak. now the pipes are very old brass and there is rust all around the join, and that green build up would the draino have eaten away at the rubber seal (if any) or just eaten away the rust to cause the leak?
help please....

This ain't the DIY forum pal.

Take your question over there.

When you signed up you agree to terms of use that said this was for industry professionals to talk amongst themselves. And that it wasn't for DIY questions. Exactly what makes you think you are so special you don't have to play by the rules?

Call Saul Goldberg and sue the pants off Draino, use that money to go to trade school and learn plumbing.
