Do You Guys Walk Dogs?
Was watching some old taped programs and I saw a commerical for, I think it was Angie's list, where the plumber was taking the customers dog out for a walk, and that was why the customer only use Angie's list. I know that's a big concern of mine, how many of you guys take fluffy for a walk as part of your plumbing service?
I suppose if you're paid your hourly rate it might not be too bad, but picking up the mess, I don't know. |

Re: Do You Guys Walk Dogs?
I have found it is in my best professional and financial interest to be as good of a pal to the family dog or cat as is allowed by the animal. People like to have their pets made of.
I dog-sit for one of my customers on a monthly basis and make some pretty good pocket money.

Re: Do You Guys Walk Dogs?
Walk dogs? I'm not sure that many people are willing to pay electrician rates to get their dog to poo. I've been in houses already, where nobody was home, and the dog was waiting impatiently at the back door. I have, during these occasions, let the dog out if the yard was fenced. So far, so good. Every dog (maybe half a dozen) has come back on its own. I will let a dog out to poo, if it seems that's what it needs to do, for my own sake. That keeps me from smelling fresh dog poo in the house during my work.
I'd rather dogs be in a crate while I'm doing my work. I'm a bonafide animal hater, and don't care much for dogs either. Nothing bothers me more than to have the homeowner (who is not home during my work) tell me that Fido is friendly, only for me to have it following me around the house, barking and snarling. What that dog doesn't know is that I'm just as likely to bite him as he is likely to bite me. Never been attacked by a dog per se, but I've been bitten many times by so-called "friendly" dogs. There should be an extra fee for that. |

It is on my proposals-- secure your pets so they do not escape. Somehow this clause makes the little bastords vanish. Have not chased a cat or had to deal with a dog since. Not sure how I would respond to the dog walking thing.
