Digital Level

I got one of these, have not had the chance to use it yet, tested it at home and it does work, it will display in/ft from 1/8", 1/4", 1/2", and so on, also will display in degree's and percent readings, could take the guess work out of grading drain pipes in the field, anyone have this and if not would you try it?

I have been looking at them everytime I am in a store or supply house that has them. I don't needs the gradients for work but I do my own work around the house. I have seen some of the ones with the laser sighting pretty cheap lately.

I know you plumbers get quite rough on your tools and that lil' screen looks a bit smashable! Especially in some crawlspace sliding around on your back.

Seriously though, I have had great luck with the gravity style angle finder. It just hangs on a pivot and points to what degree is appropriate.

Which would be useless for piping. Not all guys are rough on their tools, I don't throw all mine in a 5 gallon bucket and just walk away til the next day like some guys do.

I use a 2 gallon bucket, you can't fit as much crap in it so it's lighter.

No, I don't even use a bucket, that was a joke.

One of my guys carries two buckets that he dumps on the floor though, and he doesn't pick them up till the job is over or someone makes him. I told him a long time ago that he can replace lost hand tools at his expense.

And he still works for you? I just don't understand that type of work ethic. I have had a few guys like that in the last few years. The one guy had three buckets and had more hand tools than he could ever need to run out piping.
