Re: D/vent Oil Boiler ?
Does the manufacturer allow if for your boiler? That's the first thing you must find out.

Re: D/vent Oil Boiler ?
Wait till monday.
You could wind up losing thousands in lost time & material if it's not done right, as well as the fact that your insurance doesn't cover it. One seemingly small mistake...the building burns down, or a CO hazard. |

Learn something new every day. I had no idea an oil burner could be direct vent.
Going to check out that peerless a little more. |

Different license in my state for oil burners..I honestly don't see a big market for direct vent oil when people are frantically scrambling to eliminate having to pay $4+ a gallon now, with gas being high at $1.90 a therm ( 1.4 therm is about the same btu's as a gallon of oil) I'll generally install direct vents to avoid chimney liners, or on new installs. |

Re: D/vent Oil Boiler ?
Most of the McMansions in this area have direct vent furnaces poking out of each corner of the basement. I guess it makes zoning a little cheaper than grouping the mechanicals in a single room. I have never seen it done with oil.
Don't really have a choice of fuel here. Very little natural gas coverage. Electric or propane = reach down and grab the ankles. Last edited by Vermaraj; 06-05-2008 at 06:56 PM. |
