Corrugated Connection To WH Pressure Relief

I need to replace a lot of Water Heaters (and before you crack wise with 'Hire a Plumber'...) I could find no mention of using Corrugated Copper to connect to the overtemp/pressure valve. The new tanks are generally shorter than the old ones but they're hard piped to the drains. As long as they're less than 24" is corrugated (or Flexible) usable?

According to section 608.5 of the UPC, drain has to be full sized drain, flex connect are not considered full size. Notice the type of pipe it says you can use.

So there you go, you have your answer.

Re: Corrugated Connection To WH Pressure Relief

interesting Ron. That makes it very clear, but it would fail here. We must use the corrugated flex connectors on all three connections. The inspector failed me on one (my own house) for hard piping the T&P line. He said we had to have the union connection and the only one he would accept was with the corrugated flex copper. All the homes I build the plumber uses the flexes at all three connections.

I guess we do it different here.

Re: Corrugated Connection To WH Pressure Relief

The reason for my OP was that I've worked several different properties and some of the older ones used flex and here at the newer ones it's all hardline (the ~12 year old ones are copper, the 2 year old ones CPVC).
