Copper Epoxy

I am not a plumber...but. You guys ever use copper epoxy in areas where sweating is going to be a problem? I have a shower mixer valve on an outside wall and I cannot cut an access panel through brick. The hole for the shower faucet is probably big enough to solder but I thought I'd ask about epoxy first.

Thanks.

Re: Copper Epoxy

I have never used it but have heard good things about it on other sites.

Re: Copper Epoxy

I swear by a product called Copper Bond, used to be made & marketed by Noble Company, which makes a variety of excellent products used in the tile and natural stone installation biz. They have since sold the rights to this product and Pipe Doctor to Pacer Technologies out of Calf.

You can see a pic of the product at this link. http://www.noblecompany.com/copper.html

I've been using it since it was first introduced about 5 yrs ago, as long as you've got a clean dry pipe & connector, mix it up well, and apply a thin film on both pieces, fit together wait 20 mins & turn the water on, no worries! One caution, if you're working in an unheated crawlspace and it's like -10, it's a mother to squeeze the stuff out of the tube & mix. That's about the only time I break out the torch anymore.

seems like those would be nice but getting set up looks like it'd be kinda pricey. Takes a hydraulic crimper and (if memory serves) even the economy version is over $1000. Fittings are more, but that can be passed on 100%. It's less likely, though, you'll be able to justify an extra grand or two for "specialty equipment".

I used to have a link to a place that sells all that, I'll see if I can find it. MinConst may have it too....Paul??

I remember the tool but don't have the link. It was thousands to get set up so I figured I wouldn't be buying one
