...continued...garage Floor Drain Progress
Here is my situation...and an expensive one at that. I've got a two car attached garage with a work shop and tuck under garage below it. Pre-cast concrete spans were used to build this. They are 12 foot x 3 foot x 4 inch spans that go across each stall of the garage resting on a cinder block wall in the middle.
The past two days were spent chiseling up the old garage floor as it was cracked and there was no membrane installed underneath it. There is a floor drain for this two car garage right in the middle. The drain was non-functional and I've got the plumber coming on Tuesday to clear and inspect it with a camera. My goal is to get this drain working again. It runs in between the cinder block wall below. My dilemma is that neither the plumber nor the concrete guy want to do the part of the job that attaches the drain to the waterproof membrane. They both say that some type of caulk will need to be used to seal this connection. So I'm looking for advice regarding this portion of the project. Any ideas on how this should be connected and still withstand the concrete? Thanks!
