Code For Whirlpool Bathtub Fixture Placement

I am looking for the code for whirlpool bathtub fixture placement. I was sure there were more than just 416.0 regarding separate handle placement.

Cold is always on the right and hot on the left, it don't matter how you look at it..

Re: Code For Whirlpool Bathtub Fixture Placement

Yeah I know but my GC wants me to show him so he can show the homeowner. The handles are correct if you are standing outside the tub but she wants them to be switched so they are correct when she is in the tub. She called Price Pfister and they told her same thing you said. I thought there was an "alternate method" for tubs that have spout on one side and the handles on the other. Spout is deck mounted on the corner and the handles are on the side.

Re: Code For Whirlpool Bathtub Fixture Placement

From my understanding from the inspectors here, there correct if you standing in the tub, not viewing them from the outside. Sorry if my last post sounded different. If viewing them from outside cold is on the left. We get nailed if there reversed. It makes sense when your in the tub so if a ho wants to adjust them while taking a bath or shower, they won't turn the hot by accident. It's all a mind game, we as humans tend to act on repetitions, we will 99% reach to the right for cold and left for hot, giving the mind a loop and one could get scalded.

I'd tell her if she's wrong standing outside
of the tub, it won't hurt as much as
if she's wrong when she's in the tub!

Re: Code For Whirlpool Bathtub Fixture Placement

I know the only reason they are giving me crap is they ran out of money. It's a $3000.00 (my cost) and the have not paid for it yet. If my guys pull it I think I'm gonna just have them bring it home for me.
(It has passed inspection here and it was tested) Thank you for your reply.

OK so I switched hot & cold The GC had the tile guy come out so I didn't have to pull it. (I think it would have been eaiser) So here is my working area.

Oh and still no check...Just got off the phone with the GC and he said he is working on it...we'll see...

Tell your GC that is one nice access panel.

Wonder if the client will call Pfisher Price for a code section quote on access panels.

Why not? After all, look at that beautifull access hole. And remember, both the American flag drop cloth and the access hole were probably done by the same guy who did not know hot and cold valve placements.

Did you look at the pic?
Does your flag have white stars
in a red union?
Which country would that be?

That said, reversing the valves
is a bonehead move
for a plumber.

Oh, someone should have left an
access anyway.

It keeps the tank from sweating in the summer.

And a couple of pre-flushes keep the fanny warm in the winter.
