Boilers In Paralel

I have a gas boiler that I paraleld a wood boiler to. the pump on the gas boiler is mounted directly on the boiler on the return. I instaled another pump on the return of the wood boiler. where I teed the wood boiler into the gas boiler is about 1 foot from the pump on the gas boiler. I kind of have a feeling that the pumps may be opposing eachother. It is a used wood boiler with no instructions but heats my whole house.

Get a plumber that knows how to pipe this kind of system to design it for you. Pay him well.

Here a hint: primary/secondary with multiple heat sources and pumping away.

If that doesn't make complete sense to you then you have no business doing this yourself and need to hire a plumber who understands it.

Yea I would have to agree, unless you know how to do it.

These "Hybred" systems can be quite trickey, and if not installed correctly they can go either way, (Overheating, and or not heating at all)
However when the later happens it can have some pretty tough results.

Funny how all these 30 year old questions are popping up all over again. Paralell piping is one way to do it but Primary-secondary piping is a much better way to go about it though.

Most wood boilers are wired and plumbed the same.
