Blue Block Or Teflon Liquid?

Which one do you guys prefer? My uncle (a plumber) swears by Blue Block but I've talked to others who say a good liquid w/ teflon is better.

Re: Blue Block Or Teflon Liquid?

There are different anti-sieze compounds for different applications.I like dope with teflon for many uses.I use strictly white teflon tape on certain appls. I use a combination of both at times, then other times I don't use either [unions].Same for gas .I use the thick gas tape at times,rector-seal yellow gas dope,a combination ,or none at all [flare fittings].Any dope I buy from my suppliers is going to be good. For Galv. steel ,water lines over 2" ,I also use wicking plus dope .No wonder there's no room in my van.

Re: Blue Block Or Teflon Liquid?

I love me some RectorSeal. I use #5 on gas fittings and T+2 on everything else. Well, the odd time I actually do something anymore.

The T+2 will wash out of clothes, the #5 will not.

A plumbing apparatus part will tell you on a lable not to use pipe dope or it will void it's warranty, how many of you don't know what this part is?

Maybe an RO or softener.I always read the manufactures specs. as different manufactures require different installation procedures.
