Best Toilet On The Market
I am curious, what brand/model of toilet do you try to sell your customer?
I promoted American Standard for the first 10-12 years in business, but got sick and tired of returning half their crap for visual defects! (then their was the "smart valve" they came out with in 2000 - I had to replace a lot of fill valves) Since that time I have used some Mansfield Alto (good cheap toilet), and Kohler (mostly memoirs) My all-time favorite toilet to sell and install is the Toto Ultimate. I have installed upwards to 60-70 and have had one problem. I have yet to have a call back complaining of clogs or having to flush more than once to get the job done! I also like the fact that the Toto Ultimate (from Japan) is made in the USA, while the majority of American Standard is made elsewhere. I wonder if that is why there are very few problems with the Toto?

Re: Best Toilet On The Market
Hey, I remember seeing that toilet before. Bet its still in the same spot but I am sure the Festool has moved, though.
![]() Mid to high end clients, either Kohler or Toto. Agree that Toto is a dream toilet; not only to install but to use but certainly not cheap.

Re: Best Toilet On The MarketYes. Funny story , it is the original European model. This toilet is actually six years old. It was sitting in a Ferguson warehouse and no one knew what it was or how it worked. I paid 75 bucks for it

Re: Best Toilet On The Market
The Gods were smiling down upon you. I need to go shopping with you. Anyone who can wrangle a $1000+ toilet for $75.00 is someone I need to learn from.

Re: Best Toilet On The MarketQuote:
It was shipped to a warehouse in MD and ended up in DC and sat there for 3 years. They have tons of stuff like that at the Ferguson I ask for a list every six months. The deals are outrageous |

Re: Best Toilet On The MarketThat is a nice toilet!! I have one just like it sitting in my shop, along with a really unique 4 1/2' clawfoot tub. Both these fixtures came out of the house that Canadian WW1 flying ace Billy Bishop grew up in (in Owen Sound Ontario). I used to do a lot of restoration type renos in older homes - restored a lot of old tubs, faucets, and toilets. Don't do that much anymore

Re: Best Toilet On The Market
I'm partial to Duravit because they have so many install options, my favorite is their concealed tank models because they take up very little space.
