Their loud, difficult to service, and when the diaphragm in the pressure tank gives, they are disposable, it can't be fixed. Tell your customer to take a look at Toto, and even Kohler's large flapper line of water closets, we have experienced a lot less problems with these.

Depends on what you want, style wise Toto brings more to the table, including price, if your looking for something more economical, go with Kohler.

i sell a lot of kohler cimmaron's they are comfort height and flush great home owners love them and they are fair priced...i have 2 one piece cimmaron's in my place

yea stay away from air assisted toilets....if they really want one sell them a mansfield quantum flush.as most supply houses have repair parts readily available

I agree with the dissention.
I looked into them and they're not exactly easy to service, one breaks and you're likely waiting on parts.
The flush is obnoxiously loud and not much more powerful the a standard toilet.
They're basically a gimmick, "bright and shiney object" to get homeowners attention IMO.

Re: Air Assisted Toilets

Terry Love Plumbing was really recommending the power flush toilets some time back - don't know if he still is. But I have a Gerber power flush and it works very well, though it's loud. Later models are a bit quieter and have smaller china tanks.

I recently remodeled another bath and put in a Toto Drake. It flushes good, too, and it's a bit cheaper.

As to repairs, there are Sloan cartridges that are easy to replace, and the replacement tanks are also available - you just have to know the model. I can get one shipped in a day. But after about six or seven years, I've never had a problem with the power flush.
