subsurface investigations

The other week we were talking about ways to detect rock at a site, and I noticed not too many guys know alot about test borings and soil testing. Anyway, I've been taking some pics of the different methods since. Enjoy...

some tight spots

1st: a 55 pulling 50' of rods next to the heli landing pad at the airport

2nd: Mini rig drilling under a transformer at a substation. Yes that baby was live, notice all the 5' long rods. Thats all we could pull or it would arc over.

I always ask before taking a photo, some guys said they didn't want their face on the internet. Probably because I told them the website was drillerfantasy.com, anyway got to respect that.
