Gee, with all of that hard work, you would think that the women on the far right would have a smaller ass.

Gee and I would think being born in America and never having to work that hard in your life you'd have a little more charity rino.

Here is how they mix and pour the concrete. They pass pans (same ones for excavation) of concrete up the ladder to pour a slab.

When they really got into the above grade construction, they got a better system for the next few floors. I do not understand why they went so deep for the footings since there is no frost.

The building turned out well in the end.

Some of the women wear some nice gold around their necks. Since they usually can't buy land, they have to carry the pay they have saved. They are usually provided housing on the construction site and a meal or two.

Maybe going into bedrock? We do that here to get bearing beyond the expansive clay layers. We use a little different procedure, like a big a$$ drill. Same result.

Over-excavation

The construction was in India where they cannot build fast enough and sometimes do not want to when the apartments are sold before construction starts.

Been there many times. Amazing and very good people. It takes a while to understand why. Advice given to me before going to there was the same as for Russia - "If it doesn't seem to make sense, it must be true. When you think about it, it does make sense".

Many good engineers and practical designers.

The standard construction (interior and exterior walls) is masonry with almost no wood except packing crates (for low quality housing) that are imported. Using wood is temporary construction and not "green". The use of masonry is probably second to China where they use over 500,000,000,000 (billion) brick per year.

The design/engineering is good and the construction is definitely "low tech" since the masonry is very forgiving and durable. You don't see a lot of equipment compared to the U.S. Because of the need for roads to supplement the amazing train system, but you do see the common heavy equipment (U.S. and European) in that part of the construction.

Very little ready-mix because you cannot get it to the project when needed (traffic), so it is often batched when needed from stockpiles.
