You must be doing well if you are buying all this new equipment. Nice to hear that you are doing good.

Thanks guys. The new iron is nice but we put the hours in (7-dark) to have that stuff. We will easily double and maybe triple the amount of work we did last year.

Yeah, new equipment is nice because you don't have to work on them. My dad likes older equipment because he can actually work on them unlike todays computerized stuff.

I am a firm beleiver that you have to spend money to make money. Nice machines, wish they were sitting in my yard. Hmmm, someday.

very nice machines. looks like the 257 still has the ASV undercarriage, theres a company we found who makes replacement lugs for the tracks and solid aluminum replacement bogeys and idlers (cheaper and last longer) that have grease fittings. our 257 has about 2500 hours and we've replaced the tracks (3k$), replaced/repacked the bearings i don't know how many times (24 bogeys and idlers = 48 bearings @ 20$ apiece...24 bogeys and idlers = 24 wheel seals @ 70 $ apiece) the small bogeys (16 total) run about 180$ without guts. the idlers are around 360$(8) without the guts. (All Prices are OEM)
i know the lugs we use are call Larry Lugz, they're neoprene and bolt to the track. once one lug tears off, its a domino effect. make sure your operators keep an eye on the tension of the track and to use good operating habits. i hope we just got a lemon and you have better luck, but other than that its a great machine. just a piss poor undercarriage design.

The 2005 257b I had before this one had 1200 hrs on it when I sold it and we never touched the undercarriage. Tracks were at 90%. You gotta keep em in the dirt.

we try. bearings just went out on another bogey wheel on friday, things gonna look sweet when it has all aluminum wheels on it. i did forget to mention that we picked this machine up used from the rental store, i'm sure that might have something to do with the undercarriage issues.
