New dump truck

We picked this one up last week. 07 sterling quad with alison auto 18-6 brandon heated box. The pics were taken at menards dist. center.

Nice truck! Whats the tare and gross weight for that truck? Is it difficult to load with your skidsteers? The side boards look pretty high.

Thanks guys. Ya its a little high for the skid steer. We haul everything topsoil,blacktop,fill and demo concrete(only with sand in the bottom)

Nice looking Truck.

It's a pretty ingenious way to store the spare tire mounted on the frame like that in front of the lift axle !!

Yeah, I guess that he got tired of keeping the spare in the cab.

BTW......why did you buy a quad-axle when I see a tri-axle in one of the pics ??

the tri is the first truck I bought. Its been a good one we use it everyday.
move equipment with it a lot.when we are slow with the trucks other companys dont hire tri's they only want quads

What I am trying to figure out is why other companies will only hire quads and not tris. I thought maybe the quads could haul more.

Yes quads can haul about 4 tons more

If the numbers in post #6 are accurate that you posted, a big company around here O&G Industries run tri-axels that haul more than what your claiming.

With tri-axles, we are legal at 73,280.

Every state has different weight laws Here in wisconsin its 64000 for a tri and 73000 for a quad

I'd move.....lol

What size motor are in your trucks. I know down south, they run 4 and 5 axle trucks with small motors. Of course, there are no mountains to pull there like here in PA.

I guess Jersey is only good for one thing. 80k for a tri axle.

410 mercedes in the quad
380 c-12 cat in the tri
