bark was loose on quite a few of them...didn't give it a thought to the beetle thing.

had always heard the beetles made it to minnesota, and not here yet.

Oh trust me after having to deal with severe fires in 2015 and 2017 I can fully tell you green trees burn to well. Crowning comes to mind. Good job killing the beetles!

Today we can no longer move firewood around. It is the leading cause of infestations. Same deal in California with "Sudden Oak Death".
"The most common way EAB is spread is by moving ash firewood from infested areas to non-infested areas."

The Emerald Ash Borer is killed when the temperatures drop below -20 for a couple of days. Too bad that doesn't happen in Minnesota anymore. My sister has been releasing their arch enemy, a wasp, by the thousands in test areas to the beetles detriment.
