CT,

Nice clean looking site.

I was down in Norwalk yesterday and today. If I had time I was going to go over toward Pear Tree Beach and see if I could find your job.

I wouldn't run a track machine parrallel to a foundation wall and that close with no support or weight on it. Just me though.

I wish we had dirt like that here. High plastic soils is an all to often term here.

Nice looking job, I also would not backfill as high until the deck is on, but pretty much whatever the customer wants the customer gets.

Nick,
Lot's of work going on around here right now to look at, I just finished digging a cellar thats about 130ft long in Westport.

Is that a 8" or a 10" poured wall?? To me it looks like 8". Around here, we can't backfill a 8" wall with no weight on it because of our expansive soils.

That dry stacked wall is really nice. That is alot more work than I would want to do.

Re: Foundation Is In Here's A Few Pics

ya no i don't really no, id say its a 8" ill look in the am,,,

the contractor told me because of the 45* bump outs that are on the back of the house it would be fine and hold with out an issue their are 5 or six along the back wall ,

i was around it today with my shovel and no issues, but i have to say i was thinking about it , hahahaha

thanks , the walls are time consuming but worth it i think

On 2nd look. They look like 10" walls with a brick ledge built in. 10" walls you can fill right up to the top as long as it isn't a long straight wall.

Re: Foundation Is In Here's A Few Pics

drainage will head to street,,,, yes rhino their will be a stone veneer, the wall is 10" but less where the stone will rest , thats the lip you speak of?
the only long span is broken up with a celler door and that i have been staying away from the deck goes on Monday ,,
