Could Have Used A Sod Cutter On This Basement

dug basement yesterday for a split. there was about 16" of topsoil on the site we stripped first....leaving only about a 1-1/2 to 2' cut for the basement. spend more time on the trim passes than anything else....guess that's why we bid em all at a 5' minimum. i guess it's work tho, huh?

here's a few pics.

Nice, too bad you had to dig through all that rock.

We have thought about it from time to time, but just never changed our old habits of doing sewer after foundation poured.

We only put them in first, if it is really deep and there will be no room on the site to pile the dirt if the foundation is in or if it is rock and we have a machine rented with a hammer.
