Can't Get A Hold Of The Inspector...

Hey everyone! I'm new to this site and am looking for some help. I'm a builder in northern Wisconsin. I'm in the middle of building a small guest house/cabin. I am the point where I need a framing/electric/plumbing inspection. I've put in 3 calls to the inspector and he hasn't gotten back to me!! Meanwhile I need to get this thing insulated because drywall is coming next week. Someone told me that legally he has to get back to me within 3 days or I can proceed, has anyone ever heard this?? I don't want to offend the inspector because I deal with him fairly often, but I do need to keep rolling.. Any input is appreciated!

I think whoever told you that doesn't have your best interests at heart.

Maybe he's out and whoever's covering is not checking his voice mail. Go the office first thing in the morning and bring a pleasant demeanor.

You couldn't for see the need for an inspection and schedule in advance?

No direct contact with AHJ during biz hours?

Pick your battles....

Proceed at your own risk.

Around here, they will have you tear out the work that is in their way resulting in having to re-do it.

Phone them to arrange a time for them to do their job.

Don't call, stop by there and see what's going on, and talk to the head of the building department... If that doesn't work (I don't see why it shouldn't) call DCA.

All AHJ have bosses. Go up the food chain IN PERSON, and politely.

If it's important to you, then make the effort.

In a rural area, he's probably off hunting or taking a nap.

Totally unrelated. I like your Full Metal Jacket reference.
