Reinforcement zones

Can someone explain or provide a link explaining what a zone is in regards to reinforcement.

ARe you talking about a reinforcement zone for a retaining wall? If so then it is the area immediately behind the retaining wall the contains geogrid reinforcement (or somesort of reinforcement). You can also have reinforced slopes again usually with geogrid.

I hear people talking about Zones, and to be carefule when coring to not cut through a zone. I think it is the path of reinforcement that the load takes to the foundations I'm not sure.
