Non-residential Patio Cover

Does anyone have any knowledge regarding the code dedealing with a patio cover with translucent class "A" roofing system. I have a manufacturer that has a listed fire rated roof system that the building department is classifying as a CC1 plastic and only allowing 60% coverage of the material. I want to cover 100% with a UL listed fire resistant product that is above and beyond the initial CC1 rating under plastics. Mike
