New Commercial Construction Forum

I've been talking about doing this for a while but kept forgetting.
Anyways, this Commercial Construction Forum is for large scale projects and I think is a needed topic.

We will move it to the front page once it gets some decent posts in it.

Enjoy

Available
Could we discuss Florida State Licensing: Liability, Auto, Workman's Comp, Builder Risk and Bonding insurance? I would like to hear what other contractors are doing. I am currently revisiting my insurance needs.

Re: New Commercial Construction Forum

I am interested in how much people pay their post-construction clean up day labor in Texas, New Jersey and Maryland. We are currently in Georgia and pay $8.00/hour and have the opportunity to bid on some contracts in these other states, what would you suggest?
Also, we are wondering if the charge per sq ft varies greatly form state to state. If so, what would be reasonable in these states?

Re: New Commercial Construction Forum

I think thats a great idea Nathan. Commercial is what I do and it doesn't get much attention on this forum.

Might I suggest you post this thread in the General Discussion Board as well. I haven't been here long but I don't think most people check this board very often.

Re: New Commercial Construction Forum

Now that I actually paid attention I noticed this post is 1 1/2 years old. So I guess Commecial Construction has it's place on the front page.

I was thinking it would be a seperate title. Any chance of that happening?
I would like to see more discussion in the Commercial side.

You're correct - That and work

Actually, whilst we're on the subject of forums - How about one for funny stories that we've had happen to us at work, I'm sure we've all got a few to tell? Perhaps the odd joke or two could be thrown in?

Re: New Commercial Construction Forum

I have not visited this site for a while due to the fact that it seems most of the discussion is Residential in nature. Not that it's bad, just two sepperate beast IMO. I will participate more if we can truly have a dedicated commercial format. Regards, Selkirk

Re: New Commercial Construction Forum

I've been working on large scale projects in construction and think this forum is a good idea. I love working on large scale projects. If you look on you can see what projects I've been working on (Germany and France) and what machines I drive.

Way to go Nathan! Anybody else examples of large scale projects?

John

Re: New Commercial Construction Forum

I just noticed this thread, as it looks like a lot of people recently did. I would definitely be interested in more commercial/retail discussions.

Re: New Commercial Construction Forum

Can someone please tell me why there is such a big price gap between new commercial construction or installation and commercial renovation or modification? It seems like when it is first being build it cost about ten times more than what ever you want to have done later after it is built.
