Question

Fire Wrap/blanket


I need help finding a web site to purchase a fire resistance wrap for the duct on an exhaust canopy for a commercial kitchen.

OH uses their own version of the 2006 IMC. Make sure the product you use is compliant with this code. Products from 3M or Thermal Ceramics (Morgan site referenced earlier) will need to be 2 layers. the old code allowed 1 layer but the standard has changed. The 3M product is 2" thick per layer and heavy (11#/ft3). FireMaster FastWrap XL from Thermal Ceramics is 1.5" thick per layer and 6#/ft3. What part of OH are you from?
Hilti does not have a duct wrap.

We usualy use a product called plenum shield
