Ceiling Ht And Mezzanine Question

I have a customer who would like to put a mezzanine in for storage. The bar joists are 15' above ff.

What is the minimum ceiling ht allowed? He would like to keep the lower CH at 8'. That would only leave 6' above. Is there a provision for lower minimum ht?

Thanks,
Tim

If it is just for storage, then you should have no problem with clearance. You can also move the lights up into the space between the joists to increase ceiling heights. Also look for gas heater units, you need to keep any stored items a safe distance from the heaters.

This will be permitted. I sleep much better that way.
