Anyone have info on mezzanine floor construction

Does anyone have any info on mezzanine construction. I've been searching, but only coming up with general stuff and nothing specific. This could mean getting a job or not, so any info would be a big help. With this economy, I need this job.

Broadly, a mezzanine is a floor area open to the floors below. It is not enclosed by walls. It is any type of construction that is permitted by code: wood, steel trusses, steel studs, concrete. Its floor load can be any required/permitted by code, and appropriately designed for.

You should build/bid on what the architect and engineer design. There can be a lot of design issues on commercial floors, and one should be very careful of designing anything structural unless one has enough letters after their name. It is one thing to build a small deck or ADA ramp, but another to buils an entire second floor. If your client doesn't want to have it properly designed, you don't want that client

I think consolidatedbui is just having a bad day. You guys are correct, many facets to commercial mezzanines. I have done three, all different.

Steel framing - tji-ply flooring
2x6 framing - tji-ply flooring
steel framing and perforated steel decking for flooring

I think you need to get a better idea of what your client is looking for along with a good set of drawings with a nice big stamp before you proceed.
