Used Fence Posts

May be a dumb guestion, but is there a way to use posts for chain-link fence with the old concrete on them? Small area for small dog to do its business.

Re: Used Fence Posts

Bust the concrete off with a sledgehammer. Wear safety glasses or, better yet, a face shield, while doing so.

Re: Used Fence Posts

As Crawdad said, bust off all the concrete. Then, if you don't want to concrete, slam them into the ground 2-3 feet with a slammer. Be best to rent an air or pneumatic powered one. I did a job a month ago beating poles 2 feet intot he ground for a temp fence. Took at least 200 swings with the seldge to get each one in. Was not a fun day!

I wouldn't bother renting the pneumatic one unless its a big job(but they are great),we make our own pipe slammers and use them for small jobs, use a 2 1/2" or 3" pipe, weld a 1/4" plate on one end, then weld a set of handles on the other end.We use up pipe scraps so it ends up costing nothing.Probably just as simple to bust off the concrete and just cement them back in.
