If you don't mind the question, what is the average cost of the blocks? I love ICF's and of coursem the killer is shipping. Buildblock is saying no increase, Reward wall is saying 20%.....both are running me $15 range for the 4 foot long by 16 inch high straight run.

Re: Small ICF Job

If I order direct from the manufactor I get between 13.50-15.00. I paid about 17 for job because I went to a retailer because it was such a small order. I pay the same for straight or corners.

Re: Small ICF Job

I know a guy who does injection molding, and he says we are all getting ripped by the ICF people...think of the 2lb desity foam a stereo comes packed in....he guesses if you took the royalities and engineering out, like in another 10 years, ICF forms will be down to $5, providing oil is still in the ballpark. he also guessed that the cost, after they tooled up, were less then a buck a piece. Wish I had thought of it.

Re: Small ICF Job

I used ICF's for my house about 14 years ago. No preformed corners back then you had to miter cut them. Inspector was like.. HUH?What are they?
Easy to work but if I had it to do over I don't know if I would use foam, maybe Rastra instead. Every %^&*$# bug likes to make a nice comfy home in the styrofoam. Have to constantly spray around the foundation to keep them away.

I've not seen the windows done like that before. We have always put in window bucks and then 6" or so of concrete over top. Your way looks more economical...are there any issues putting the windows in?

BTW, is that radiant heating? Smart
