We use mostly 3/4 clean stone-no fines for concrete work.

City work requires us to use non-recycled AB sidewalks and entryways on City property, walkways and backyard patios (private) we use either recycled AB or 3/4 clear depending on who's and whats readily available

We use a 3/4" process gravel for most base,, besides some stonewall base which we`ll use 3/4 clean depends on if beach work or close to wet land,,, Watch Hill RI,,, and yes we compact evry 4" with the lil compactor,,, and 6-8 with the monster compactor.
