Setting Wood Beams In A Concrete Slab Pour
I'm pouring a slab today, (should've ask this earlier) How should I go about laying 2x6 rough sawn lumber in a concrete slab to look like a faux beam. I will stain the concrete and the beam to look old.
The beam will be 12' long. Should I wrap it in plastic to keep it clean? It will be indoors. Should I not so that moisture can move as it pleases. Maybe just plastic the top for trowelling purposes. Maybe no cover to accelerate the aging process of the beam Should I set the beam in first and pour on each side. I guess I should support it with steel so that there is no route for insects should the lower support rot out if it was made of wood. feel free to call or post with advise. adam nash 404.819.5455 |
