Screed handles
Does anyone know of any screed handles that you can use while standing? My back is gone from a surgery! I've made some in the past but would like to find some professionally made handles if they exsist, I've seen all the short handles and they dont offer me anything. We do alot of smaller pours and dont need anything heavy (vibrating type) just want simplicity if its out there. I keep hearing of some but cant find them. I want to get some for my guys and maybe even me again.

I only know of the gas-powered screed shakers which have handles so one person can walk in front.
If you want to do this without the motorized screed vibrator, just fix some lawn mower handles to a screed board.
the only thing is that I don't understand how enough pressure can be put on the board while pulling it. I would think you'd have to get behind it and push it.

Thanks Cleveman....
I will keep searching.
If I find them I will post them.
I seen them when I was in Orlando and didn't stop for the name....I did recall the company that was doing the job and I'm waiting for the owner to get back with me.

Devon, try looking at Cleform I think they have a product called the "screed rite" that has a swivel handle. I personally haven't bought anything from them so I cant vouch for tool quality, but they have been around a while. There is another product I located on ebay called the Scrute, which is basically a magnesium triangle screed on a handle. I have seen it on ebay, but I am not sure who makes it , a small company I think I read somewhere. Any way here is the link to check it out Cleform.

Thanks Hoven,
I've seen the scrute and its to small....I've also found a few that knock dowm bumps and such....What I seen in Florida was a set of handles made just for everyday screeding...the owner of the company finally called me back and filled me in....what I seen was a prototype tool they were testing...lol just my luck....but he did give me the company name and they arent selling them yet....should be around the end of May he said.....The tool was called the TRI-SCREED or TRISCREED and is designed to have a downward pressure and is adjustable ...its pretty cool ....It has two other benefits im unaware of...hense the "TRI" Screed when the site comes available I will post it here if its allowed....they will be light and quality made. cant wait!
Thanks for the help,
Devon

I looked at the cleform site and their "all angle swivel connector" #701099 seems like a good solution for what I'm looking for. It will allow you to get off to the side, out of the concrete, on not so wide pours. They say to use two of them on pours wider than 10'. I could see a guy on either side, each with a pole, and a screed vibe in the middle.

I found more about the Tri-Screed....Its a Rt. and lft. (switchable) handle and can be adjusted to several configurations so your outside the forms or so "two guys" can do a larger area and even has an attachment for vibrating if needed....I don't want the vibrating...just the unique features it offers.....its designed to compound your energy..... you can stand or adjust it to lower levels if desired...I like the fact that its going to be light and not have to carry the vibe motor...unless I want to buy it as an add on for certain jobs....Ive made my own handles for years and always thought something needed to be better...Ive also done it with just the 2x4 for years. Anyway the company that is making them is selling me a prototype....Im giving them feedback as well.

Sounds interesting Devon, I googled Tri-screed and Triscreed and nothing matched. If you get a web address for the product would you post it so I can have a look ? Even a picture would be cool. Let me know if you like it.

I got the prototype....All I can say is WOW!.....Why didn't I think of that!...they work like a dream....They haven't named the tool yet and said they are having a domain issue of some sort....they expect to be in production around...July if everything works out....this tool will be a standard. I asked if they would sell me two prototypes and they did....only problem is I thought I would wear one out at some point...Not possible! they are very well made and are not exactly as the production will be. Ill keep you posted.

I was getting curious myself and called Don about when they would be out and also asked about a prototype for you...he dont have any more prototypes at this point......and said they are moving slower then expected at getting things done.....anyway Kustom Const. if you need a prototype I can sell you one of my two ....I have an adjustable aluminum set (very light 4 lbs) and I have an all metal "powder coated" set that weigh much more and they are nice as well but dont adjust....I like them both but can only use one set at a time unless we are doing a big pour and we dont do them anymore.
I bought two sets because I thought I would wear out a set....Nope! they are made really good. And also they wanted feedback on both models.
These are perfect for sidewalks, driveways, patios, foundations and around plumbing.
I like both sets and dont care what one you choose because they both have benefits I really like.
anyway leave me some contact info if your interested in a set.

Hey guys, I too am interested in this prototype. I am always looking for an easier, better way to get things done. I have not purchased a walk behind screed yet, but did purchase a bolt on vibrator for fixed screed to screed and like it really well. It has the limitation of going only from form to form. Would like to be able to do the wet screeds. Want to try the R2 tech screed from Marshalltown with laser set up.

The attachment you bought is what I have too...it attaches on this prototype perfectly....Give me your email and when it becomes available I will send you the link.
