Patching Penetrations In Concrete Roof Deck

Looking for some advice.

I need to patch some cores, exist. curb openings, etc...in a concrete T roof deck. Want to get the best finish possible as the deck will be exposed as ceiling.

Thinking epoxy based system, with form material shot up/supported from below???

Dow and grout???

Anyone with experience to share???

Thanks

Re: Patching Penetrations In Concrete Roof Deck

How large are openings and will the exposed to view side be painted? I have had great results with 10K grout, doweled on larger penetrations.

We generally wipe the existing concrete down with SilPro C-21, Tapcon a form to the under side and pour. Larger penetration would obviously have to be formed and braced accordingly.

A band of GreenStreak Hydrophilic waterstop around the perimeter of the joint is a good idea if water-proofing is required. Do not use the hydrophilic unless you have a minimum of 2" of cover above and below.

I have used this method to patch concrete decks and core drill holes in public pool walls. If you use the 10K non-shrink grout we have patched holes up to 12" in diameter without doweling. This will result in a very strong and leak-proof patch. The ones we have done in pools hold back a 4' to 6' head of water.
