Locating Rebar

I need to bore a 1-1/2" hole through 4 poured columns, these are bearing columns, need to accurately locate rebar.
Does anyone have any experience/advice- I think I need something better than a stud finder.

Have the columns x rayed I always have this done when drilling into critical concrete structures lika a post or pre tensioned slab.
