No you definitely vibrate the concrete to fill all the voids

We used to always add some pebbles or more stones, tamped them in & sprayed it off a little later

I'm wrong? Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo way!!

Your boss is nuts, i personally don't know of any other way to get a nice surface (no honeycombing) without tamping/vibrating the concrete.

Tell'em that you need an "Industrial Vibrater" to vibrate concrete, not the one under his womens bed.... ...Actually, better keep that between us....

So your boss seems to think that vibrating concrete all rocks drop and the cream rises? Do yourself a favor, produce a sample for your boss, he'll probably fire you but at least he will be completing concrete right.

Ask him how they do such a clean corbel free job on bridges on the highway. The Confederation bridge spanning from PEI to the mainland, I assure you it was vibrated and vibrated well!!!

There are some people i know, who get paid pretty nice penny for vibrating concrete around here. They say that you can tell the concrete is vibrated so well just by the sound.

When these guys show up on site, they run the pour and they are very particular about everything. At the end of the day, what an incredible job they do when you strip the forms.

It amazes some people after they fill a wall and when done vibrating notice that the concrete settles and needs topping again, what does that tell you? The other one I like is when someone tells me calculations are wrong cause I figured they needed 100 yds and they tell me they stopped at 90 yds cause they had no other room for the rest, when I ask if they vibrated I get this either blank stare or a laugh saying that wasn't necessary. How little they know...
